Sherpa Kids offers high quality childcare at an affordable price. Working on a child carer ratio of no more than 15:1, it delivers a fresh and vibrant approach to childcare. It aims to give children “such a good time they just don’t want to go home!”. In addition to offering activities, ranging from arts and crafts to sports and cookery, Sherpa Kids also capitalises on its international connections by, for example, encouraging Sherpa children from Adelaide in Australia to send postcards to children in Clonakilty, West Cork, to learn about life on the other side of the world.

All of our services are run by dedicated franchisees that are carefully selected by the company. By using a franchise model, Sherpa Kids’ services not only benefit from the local knowledge of the provider, they also contribute to the economic and employment prospects of local communities since all the decision making is done at local level by the franchise owner.

Our Services

Before School, After School and Holiday Care

Before School, After School and Holiday Care Programmes are provided in accordance with the requirements of the school and Sherpa Kids’ Centre Policies and Procedures (Policies and Procedures). The Policies and Procedures will be developed by Sherpa Kids in alignment with the school’s policies and are subject to the school’s approval.

In collaboration with the school, and supporting its values and ethos, our programmes will be tailored to complement the curriculum and themes running in the school. The weekly theme is explored each day via planned, fun activities that are designed to link with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and My Time, Our Place – Framework for School Age Care in Australia (The Framework) to assist educators to provide children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in life.

A typical After School Care weekly routine is:

  • Monday: Arts & Crafts
  • Tuesday: Music & Drama
  • Wednesday: Sport & Games
  • Thursday: Cooking & Technology
  • Friday: Fun Activities

A typical After School Care daily routine is:

  • 3.00 – 3.30pm: Roll Call and recharge with afternoon tea
  • 3.30 – 4.00pm: Homework or quiet activity
  • 4.00 – 5.00pm: Planned learning activity (e.g. Art and Craft)
  • 5.00 – 5.45pm: Outside play (weather permitting)
  • 5.45 – 6.00pm: Tidy up, Quiet time and children picked up.

These are a guide to Sherpa Kids’ Programmes but they are flexible enough to cater to children’s enthusiasm and interest on the day and can be altered to suit at the discretion of the Programme Co-ordinator.
