Government Financial Assistance

CCB – Child Care Benefit

Child Care Benefit (CCB) is a payment from the Australian Government that helps Parents/Guardians who meet the Family Assistance requirements with the cost of child care. Parents/Guardians can choose to receive CCB as an annual lump sum payment or as reduced child care fees throughout the year.

CCR – Child Care Rebate

Child Care Rebate (CCR) assists parents and guardians who meet the Work, Training, Studying test with out of pocket expenses for approved care. Parents/Guardians will automatically be assessed for Child Care Rebate when they lodge a claim for Child Care Benefit for approved care.

JET – Job, Education and Training Child Care Assistance

JET assistance helps with the cost of approved child care for eligible parents undertaking activities such as job search, work, study, training or undertaking rehabilitation to enter, or re-enter the workforce as part of an Employment Pathway Plan

Parents/Guardians can get an estimate of the assistance they may be eligible for by using the online estimator. This will help parents get an idea of the amount of CCB & CCR they may be entitled to, the number of hours they can claim, and their out of pocket expenses. See below link

If Parents/Guardians already know their CCB & CCR entitlements, they can go onto the Sherpa Kids Australia website, and use the session fees provided to work out how much gap they will pay per session. See below link:

Any queries regarding CCB/CCR & JET eligibility and payments are handled by the Australian Government Department of Human Services, who work in conjunction with Centrelink.

If a Parent/Guardian is not receiving any benefits please direct them to Centrelink who will assist them in submitting an application for Family Assistance.
