Sherpa Kids St John the Evangelist

Before School Care:

We open from 6.30am until school staff come on duty at 8.35am where we drop off the children to the supervised playground for morning play. During this time, we offer them a heathy breakfast (cereals and milk, toast with butter, fruits etc). They also get the chance to play some of their favourite games & activities, both indoor and outdoor, with their friends before starting their school day.

After School Care:

After School Care commences at 3.10pm with roll call at our meeting point at St John’s. Children have a short period of time to play and get out the energy stored from being in the classroom for the last 2 hours.  Students wishing to complete any homework tasks can utilise this time to do that.  After this we commence afternoon tea with our healthy and yummy variety of snacks and delicious seasonal fruits.  From around 4.10pm our program time begins.   Our programs are designed in line with the children’s interest and incorporate various themes that are pertinent at different times of the year, eg Easter, Mothers Day, NAIDOC week etc.  Program time runs for around 30 mins after which the children can choose to continue this in a less structured way or they have free time with supervised activities both inside and outside.  Ultimately, our service ensures that whatever we do the children have great fun in a relaxed, yet stimulating environment.

Children can be picked up anytime throughout the afternoon, giving parents much needed flexibility.  We close at 6.00pm.

Holiday Care:

Our wonderful holiday programs are out around mid-term each term and include a variety of excursions, incursions and centre-based days.  Our holiday care starts at 7.00am daily and closes at 6.00pm. Holiday programs and booking forms can be downloaded from our website or collected in service from around week 5 or 6 each term.

To enrol your child, please download the form below, fill it out [one per child] and return it via email to this franchisee.

Mick Rasmussen – Owner, Sherpa Kids Narellan

My name is Mick Rasmussen.  I am the owner of Sherpa Kids Narellan, which includes our services at St Paul’s Camden and St John’s Campbelltown.  I am a qualified primary school teacher and have taught at St Paul’s Camden in a full time capacity from 2009 – 2013.  It was during this time that gave me the idea to start a before and after school care business at the school.  I started the business at St. Paul’s in 2013 and then at St John’s a year later.

We are really proud to where we have journeyed to in that time, from 2 boys on the first morning to now supporting over 300 families across the two schools and caring for approximately 60-70 children at each session daily.

I have been blessed with two fantastic teams at both schools whose paramount focus is on the children and their families.  In addition we are very fortunate to be partnering with two wonderful schools with very supportive principals and Parish Priests.

(Parent) – St John’s “Sherpa kids is an amazing before, after school and vacation Care program. They offer a fun, friendly and healthy environment for children of all ages. As working parents this is one less stress for us as our son really enjoys attending this lovely service with the added bonus of the location within school premises. Thank you,   Sherpa Kids!”

(Parent) – St John’s “I would have no hesitation in recommending Sherpa Kids at St Johns to any families from our St Johns Primary community. We have been part of the service since the very beginning and my Daughter is always well cared for, in every aspect. Andrea and Vicky and all their supporting staff carers, have exceeded my expectations are so kind and caring. We feel like we are members of their family at times and my Daughter is so settled, I am certain she feels the same. Michael has also been very professional, caring and understanding, which is so important when it comes to our children’s needs.”
